Parents in a Pinch offers customizable and comprehensive adult care services including:

Temporary in-home care, which includes companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation to and from a medical appointment, and assistance with bathing, dressing and activities of daily living
Discounted rates for the hourly cost of in-home care
Consultation with an experienced social worker on caregiving issues
Information on resources and eldercare services

As your parents or other family members’ age, you will have many challenges. Will you need care for your confused grandfather while your grandmother is in the hospital? Will you need short-term help for your spouse/partner or for yourself, while recovering from surgery or an illness? Juggling the care of an elder family member with your job can be stressful. Fortunately, your employer recognizes the importance of offering supports to alleviate this stress. When the need arises a quality caregiver can come to your elder’s home on a short-term basis in most places throughout the country.

How it works

When to call

Call Parents in a Pinch when your elder dependent has a need for companion or personal care services (such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, prompting for medication, assistance with bathing, dressing, and activities of daily living). Adult care is available in the home of your elder or adult dependent 24 hours/day, seven days/week.

Arranging adult care

Call Parents in a Pinch at 800-688-4697 to request care
Identify yourself and your company
Parents in a Pinch will identify a caregiver for you; the caregiver will contact you to finalize the arrangements.
When the caregiver arrives, sign an authorization and release form.
You will either pay the caregiver at the end of the day or your credit card will be billed once care is received.

Paying for adult care

In most cases, employees pay an hourly fee between $15.00 and $18.00 per hour (with a four-hour minimum charge). Rates vary by geographic location. Some companies offer reimbursement for all or part of the fee paid.
